Elena Morlock

Elena Morlock is the Business Manager for Marfa Public Radio in Marfa, Texas. Marfa Public Radio consists of 9 staff, and as such the Office Manager wears many hats. Elena handles accounts payable and receivable, PSA production, underwriting, various HR and administrative tasks, Board meeting arrangements, merchandise inventory and sales, and event planning. Although she is new to public media, having joined Marfa Public Radio in November 2021, Elena has had considerable management experience elsewhere. Prior to Marfa Public Radio, she served as an Office Manager for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Elena also lived overseas in Japan for nearly 10 years; she studied abroad, and upon finishing her coursework, stayed and taught English. She served as an Instructor Manager for Gaba Corporation in Tokyo for 3 of those years, managing teams of 15-150 individuals from countries all over the world.

Elena is the only “hometown girl” at Marfa Public Radio, having been born 30 minutes away in Alpine, and having grown up just a couple of hours south, in Big Bend National Park and Terlingua, on the Texas-Mexico border. She enjoys yoga, sunshine, flowers, seeing live music, pretty nails, and hanging out with her cat. She also enjoys DJing - Elena hosts a weekly music show called Terlingua to Tokyo that airs on Marfa Public Radio.
