Sandra Clark
Sandra Clark is vice president for news and civic dialogue at WHYY, the Philadelphia region’s leading public media outlet. Clark serves on the station’s executive leadership team and manages all news operations across radio, television, web, and digital media. She leads the newsroom’s audience growth and diversification strategies, community engagement initiatives, and manages local news partnerships and journalism funding opportunities. Clark was named one of the Philadelphia Tribune’s 2021 Most Influential African American Leaders. She is a long-time advocate for diversity, inclusion, and equity and closing the knowledge, power and trust gap between journalists and communities of color. She has worked with the Poynter Institute, the Maynard Institute, and the Lenfest Constellation News Leadership Initiative as a leadership coach and mentor. Clark serves on boards for the News Leaders Association, the Asian Arts Initiative, and the University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism, and advisory boards for the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication, the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University, and Knight Foundation Philadelphia.
