Lisa Olken

Lisa Olken is PBS Utah’s Director of Content. She leads the creation, development, and distribution of original series & documentaries for digital and broadcast, as well as the editorial and strategic direction. Some of her programs include: 'Roots, Race & Culture', a conversation series about race and identity from the Black and POC perspective; 'This Is Utah', an outdoor and arts & culture magazine series distributed nationally; 'Utah Insight', a weekly deep-dive about hot-button issues; and 'The Hinckley Report', a weekly political roundtable.

Reflecting the West’s diversity of voices, stories & experiences has been the cornerstone of Olken’s Public Media career. She’s worked with all-Native crews for two films with Vision Maker Media, 'Urban Rez' and 'Red Power Energy', toured with the U.S. State Department’s American Film Showcase, evaluates original program proposals for VMM, CPB, and NEH, and has been awarded 2 international awards, 15 national awards and 30 regional Emmy Awards.
