Assistant General Manager, Business & Information, WGVU

Megan Davey

Megan A. Davey is the Assistant General Manager, Business & Information at WGVU, a service of Grand Valley State University. WGVU is GVSU’s joint-licensee for NPR and PBS in West Michigan and Ms. Davey has been with WGVU since May of 2016. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Marketing from DePaul University in Chicago in 2006 and her Master of Business Administration from Grand Valley State University in 2020.

Ms. Davey previously worked as the Vice President of Finance for Pitchfork Media prior to and following the acquisition of the company by Conde Nast Publications. She began working for Pitchfork as an intern in 2005 and progressed to become an Administrative Assistant, then General Manager before finishing her tenure with the organization as Vice President of Finance. Her work at Pitchfork included financial management and strategic planning as well as event production.

Ms. Davey also worked as an adjunct professor at Columbia College in Chicago teaching within the school of Arts and Entertainment Media Management. She instructed a course on Internet Business for three semesters focusing on the evolving digital landscape and related media trends.

Ms. Davey has also served her community as a volunteer and board member for One Tail at a Time, a Chicago-based dog rescue as well as volunteering in Grand Rapids at the Kent County Animal Shelter. She currently volunteers with Community Food Club. She is in her second term on the board for the Public Media Business Association where she serves as treasurer and co-chair of the conference planning committee.
