Corrie MacLaggan

Corrie MacLaggan (she/her) is the statewide managing editor of The Texas Newsroom, a collaboration that includes NPR, KERA in North Texas, Houston Public Media, KUT in Austin and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio. She is based in Austin. Previously, she was managing editor of The Texas Tribune and served as a national correspondent for Reuters. She covered Texas government and politics for the Austin American-Statesman, and reported for the Statesman’s Spanish-language newspaper. In addition, she worked in Mexico City, where she wrote for the Miami Herald’s Mexico edition and the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Her first reporting job was at the El Paso Times. Corrie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead-Cain scholar. She is a vice president of the Texas Lyceum, a nonprofit, nonpartisan statewide leadership organization.
