Sarah Ashworth
Sarah Ashworth oversees all original audio, video and digital content at Vermont Public. She has been a news director, editor, producer, and reporter at public radio stations around the country. Most recently, she worked as an editor at Minnesota Public Radio and was the news director at New Hampshire Public Radio. During that time, NHPR won two national Edward R. Murrow awards for Overall Excellence. In 2019 Vermont Public also won a national Murrow for Overall Excellence. The organization has also been honored for its investigative and feature reporting, interviews, podcasts, digital work and recognized nationally for innovation.
Sarah also previously worked at Vermont Public as a producer and reporter for Vermont Edition, the station’s weekday news magazine. She also was a producer of the Diane Rehm Show at WAMU in Washington, D.C.
Earlier in her career she served as an assistant professor of journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she helped launch the school’s public radio program and was news director of KBIA.
Sarah is also a graduate of the Sulzberger program in Executive Media Leadership at Columbia University and a fellow in the CPB's Editorial Integrity and Leadership Initiative. She lives in Vermont with her husband and daughter.
