Managing Editor of Digital News, KQED
Ki Sung
Ki Sung is managing editor of digital news at KQED, the NPR/PBS member station in San Francisco. She has deep experience in podcasts, web, email newsletters, audience engagement, visuals and radio. She started her career as a volunteer answering phones and sorting faxes at member station KCRW, then went on to produce their national program, “To the Point,” before moving on to roles at NPR and Marketplace. While a student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, she interned at several major-market newspapers and saw first hand what happens when news organizations don’t prepare for disruptive audience behavior. She recently achieved a life-long goal of hers by co-hosting a radio pledge drive for the first time. Ki is part of the 2023 Sulzberger Executive Leadership Program cohort at Columbia University.
