Senior Marketing Manager, NPR

Gary Duong

Gary is the Senior Marketing Manager for NPR. His work is focused on driving brand awareness for NPR and finding younger, diverse audiences for NPR programming, both broadcast and podcast. Past campaigns have reached millions of listeners through digital and social advertising, launching the first ever NPR sponsored HBCU football game at Howard vs Morehouse, experimenting with in-game advertising, promoting the launch of podcasts like The Last Cup, Embedded, Wisdom from the Top, State of Ukraine and acquiring new listeners for Planet Money, Up First, Short Wave and Pop Culture Happy Hour.

With over a decade of marketing experience within media and entertainment, Gary has previously worked for TV, movies and other entertainment companies. Highlights include launching the first 2nd-screen TV initiative for Winsanity, filming social media content for Skin Wars (a body painting competition show), and managing on-site activations at Comic Con and RuPaul’s Drag Con - all at Game Show Network; led cross-promotion strategy between Rockettes and America’s Got Talent at Madison Square Garden Co and developed internal partnerships with TODAY Show, Syfy and Universal Studios while at NBCUniversal.

He has an MBA from University of California, Berkeley and his undergraduate from University of Southern California.
