Angela (Angie) Carr
Carr oversees Nine PBS’s fundraising activities and the execution of the on-the-ground community engagement initiatives, including early education, Pathways to Work, and special projects in health, arts, economy, and education. Under her direction, Teaching in Room 9, Nine PBS’s on-air classroom for St. Louis’s young learners, earned the Demonstrating Innovative Solutions award from FOCUS St. Louis’s What’s Right with the Region. Additionally, Drawn In, a multi-media collaboration between Nine PBS and Lion Forge Animation advancing children’s literacy and celebrating media representation for BIPOC kids, won a Mid-America Regional Emmy in the Entertainment Short Form Content category for the “Brave Hero” episode. She is also responsible for overseeing Nine PBS’s institutional giving which includes developing the strategy and execution of grant and foundation accounts, cultivating funder relationships, and managing long-term fundraising plans.
Angie currently sits on the board of Access Academies, Webster University’s School of Communication Advisory Board and is the incoming Vice President for the Development Advisory Board for PBS. She also recently graduated from the FOCUS St. Louis Leadership program. Carr holds a master’s degree in hospitality management from Drexel University and a bachelor’s degree in advertising and communications from Webster University.
Before joining Nine PBS in 2015, Carr was the Director of Special Events at the Peabody Opera House (Stifel Theatre). There, she hosted high-profile events featuring national celebrities, including Michelle Obama, and the Oprah Winfrey Network.
