Vice President of Project Management, Lehigh Valley Public Media and Vice President, Pennsylvania PBS

Cari Kozicki

Over the last 24 months, Cari has led the project management efforts for Pennsylvania PBS, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), on the GEER-funded “Connecting to Learning Initiative” that supports the Continuity of Education in Pennsylvania during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and builds capacity to equalize access to distance learning. A component of the initiative is datacasting, which is a tool to bring high-quality, digital content to learners that lack access to, or are under-connected to, broadband internet. Cari is also part of the leadership team in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), that has facilitated a national Community of Practice: Innovations in Distance Education to discuss datacasting and share solutions across states. This group has collated its collaborative learnings into a research paper.

Concurrently, Cari leads the strategic planning efforts at Lehigh Valley Public Media around becoming a data-driven organization.

Prior to moving to Pennsylvania from Massachusetts in 2015, Cari volunteered with WGBH in Boston, helping in the membership and marketing teams. Before her entry into public media, she was the Sales Manager, North America for an international SIM Card and communications provider, in charge of $8mm in revenue with partners in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. During her tenure there, she closed the largest upfront deal in the company’s history to that point, and negotiated and signed the company’s first local distribution opportunity in Brazil.

Having experienced first-hand the benefits of mentorship and education, Cari is looking to pay her skills forward within the public media ecosystem, and continue to learn from her peers. Cari describes herself as a people-person who has a thirst for knowledge and a knack for helping cultivate the culture of an organization. Outside of work, she loves hiking (most recently scaling the highest peak in Bosnia), biking, game nights, and traveling. She has lived in 3 US states, one international country, and has visited 26 countries and counting!
